Head coach of Bahrain's football team Adnan Hamad has been sacked by the Football Association (BFA) Monday following the team's recent 0-3 loss to Saudi Arabia in the 2nd round of Group A of the 22nd Arabian Gulf Cup tournament, currently held in the Saudi capital.
An emergency meeting, held in Riyadh, discussed the team's negative and mediocre performance in recent matches against Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
The BFA board members decided to dismiss Hamad, an Iraqi, as head coach and appointed his assistant Murjan Eid as the caretaker coach, BFA said in a statement.
