Bahrain has advanced to the semifinals of the 7th West Asia Football Federation Championship after beating Saudi Arabia 1-0 in the Group B. Striker Jaycee gave Bahrain the sole-goal lead in the 76th minute through a strong shot into the net. By this victory, Bahrain has garnered seven points to have the first place by just two points ahead of the Iranian football team who came second by beating Yemen 2-1. Saudi Arabia has the third position by four points, while Yemen still remains at the bottom of the list with no points. The game was not very good as both Gulf teams failed to perform as expected and there were a very few attacks. The first round of the group closes on Sunday through a single match between Jordan and Syria in the Group C, which will determine the qualifier to the semifinals.
