Australia dealt Kuwait a heavy blow by beating them by 4-1 goals in the opening game of the 16th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup held in Melbourne, Australia.
Kuwait's goal was scored by Hussein Fahdel in the 7th minute while host Australia scored four times after that at the 32rd, 44th, 62nd, and 90th minutes.
Australia now heads Group A with three points while Kuwait gains nothing out of the encounter. Later on, Group A teams South Korea and Oman will be playing their match with eyes fixated on the three points.
Kuwait will be playing South Korea next Tuesday while Oman will face the host Australia later on the same day.
