Asian Sports Press Association (ASPA) President Faisal Al Qenaei on Saturday commended the initiative taken by the Kuwaiti leadership that has designated two airplanes to transport the fans to Riyadh to back the team in the 22nd Gulf Cup tourney.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Qenaei said that Kuwaiti fans contributed to the team's win over Iraq last Thursday. "Kuwaiti spectators were distinguished in the game," he added.
He noted that some Kuwaiti media people are attracted by some satellite channels to comment on matches due to their high professionalism and skills in this regard.
He pointed out that Gulf football officials are constantly developing the game.
The Kuwaiti media delegation covering the 22nd Gulf Cup tournament is among the largest teams of journalists following up on the sports event, he added.
Meanwhile, the head of the organizing committee of the 22nd Gulf Cup tourney, Ragaa Al-Salmi, said that at least 2050 media people are covering the event.
