Algerian cyclist Islam Mansouri snatched Sunday the gold medal of the juniors' individual time trial race of the Arab Cycling Championships (all categories), taking place in Annaba (600-km east of Algiers) from 9 to 22 October.
Mansouri rode the 20km race in 25 minutes 36 seconds, ahead of Iraq's Mohamed Lefteh Mohamed (25.28) and Morocco's Abderahim Ezahiri (25m 59s).
The second Algerian cyclist who competed in this race, Zoheir Benyoub, finished fifth clocking 26m 4s.
Fourteen cyclists from seven countries participated in the junior individual time trial.
In cadets' individual time trial race, Algeria's Hamza Mansouri won the silver medal with 12 minutes 54 seconds, while the second Algerian in the 10-km race, Amar Bradie finished fifth with 12m 58s.
Algeria has won up till now 4 medals (3 gold and one silver).
A total of 330 cyclists from 12 countries, including Algeria are participating in the Arab tournament.
