AFC Champions League quarter-finalists Al Sadd picked up the first win of the new Qatar Stars League with a 3-1 result at Umm Salal. Al Sadd, who trail Iranians Sepahan 1-0 ahead of Wednesday's second-leg in Doha, fell behind in the 25th minute when Jamal Thamer found the back of the net but the visitors hit back through Wesam Rizik and Mamadou Niang's double. Elsewhere, Al Wakra are still looking to get off the mark after going down 3-1 at Al Arabi. Boualem Khouki gave the home side a two-goal lead at the break but Al Wakra hit back through Said Boutahar and Khalil Sharif. However, Khouki completed his hat-trick on the stroke of full-time to grab the points for Al Arabi.
