The inaugural Futsal Schools Cup was contested in Salahauldeen Hall, with Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum School emerging victorious. The school will now play in the national competition next week in Sharjah after displaying a rare blend of grit and skill to win all three of their round-robin matches. The second placed team Mohamed Nour school were the favourites going in to the last encounter between the two teams. However, they went behind early on 3-0 before clawing their way back to 3-2 only to run out of time. The cup is part of the Princess Haya initiative for the Development of Health & Physical Education in schools.
