Al-Arabi Sporting Club said the team is ready to face Egypt's Al-Ahly Sporting Club in a friendly match to be held at Sabah Al-Salim Stadium on Wednesday.
Al-Arabi players and staff members hoped both teams would put on a great performance, despite the absence of many key players on both sides, a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday said.
Deputy football manager in the Al-Arabi club Khaleel Al-Ballam said he was positive the substitute players of both teams will also play a good match.
He noted the importance of this event especially with Al-Ahly being the champions of both Egypt and Africa, while Al-Arabi is one of the top rated clubs in Kuwait and the Gulf region.
Meanwhile, football manager Abdulaziz Al-Motawa said the event aims to prepare the team for its upcoming matches in the local league.
He also noted that the players are all in good shape and ready to compete against the Egyptian team, except for Syrian player Feras Al-Khatib who suffers from an injury and may only participate for about 15 minutes.
The team's player Mohammad Cheragh hoped the club would benefit from the level of expertise of Al-Ahly, while the Kuwaiti league is halted for players to participate in the 22nd Gulf Cup of Nations, to be held in Saudi Arabia on November 13.
Feras Al-Khatib on his part hailed Al-Ahly's many achievements, hoping the audience would enjoy this big event.
As for player Hussein Al-Mosawi, he noted that the team will give its best performance despite the absence of the majority of the forwards.
