Egypt’s Interior Ministry has approved the request of al-Ahly fans allowing them to attend the side's CAF Super Cup match against Congolese Leopards in Alexandria on February 23. It is the first time that Egyptian authorities will allow fans to enter an Egyptian stadium, since the final of the African Champions League, where only 40 percent of the stadium was opened. Ahly have welcomed the security approval, and the club management feels it can capitalise on the support at Borg el-Arab stadium, which has been missing in recent matches. In a statement, the administration expressed its readiness to help the security forces and called on the fans to cooperate in the matter, so that fans across the country to attend Egyptian league matches in the future.
