The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) decided on Monday to refer Al Ahly striker Ahmed Abdul-Zaher to investigations for making a four-finger sign of ousted president Mohamed Morsi's supporters after scoring Sunday's game-clinching goal. On Sunday, Al Ahly won an eighth African Champions League trophy when they beat Orlando Pirates of South Africa 2-0 in the second leg of the final in Cairo. Abdul Zaher scored the second goal and celebrated it by flashing the four-finger sign of Rabea el-Adawiya, the place of the six week-long sit-in protest staged by the Muslim Brotherhood supporters to demand Morsi's reinstatement. In a meeting held today, Ahly football committee decided to suspend the first team's striker and to freeze all of his financial dues," a statement read on the club's website Monday. "The committee tasked the club's football department head Hadi Khashaba and the team's football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz to conduct an investigation before presenting their findings to an emergency board meeting on Tuesday," the statement added.
