Ahly have sold the right to broadcast their matches this season to the Future Media Company for LE41 million ($5.8 million), the club announced on Thursday. Club president Hassan Hamdy last week announced the tender, which was expected to raise around LE35 million. He denied reports the club had threatened to withdraw from the league over the issue. In December, Egyptian state television won the right to broadcast the country's Premier League matches this season for LE70 million ($10 million), after reaching an agreement with the committee that represents most Egyptian clubs. Ahly refused to join the collective deal, preferring to sell its own TV rights individually via a public tender. The three companies that took part in the tender were Presentation which offered LE40 million, El-Nahar (LE20 million), and Future (LE41 million). Source: Ahram Online
