The Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour season finale will take place at the capital's Corniche at the end of next month.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, freestyle motocross riders will battle it out on October 30 in the first X-Fighters' season finale to be held in the country. The race to be crowned champion could not be tighter, with 2013 winner Tom Pages from France tied at 280 points with Australia's Clinton Moore, who has topped the scoreboard all season.
Ahmed Al Shehhi, the director of the Abu Dhabi leg of the series, thanked Abu Dhabi government's efforts to host international sports events, adding that Sheikh Mansour's support and sponsorship reflected the importance of the event.
"Sheikh Mansour is a well-known global leader in the world of sports. His ideas played a pivotal role in shaping the new policy of Manchester City Football Club,” he said. "The Sky Blues, since then, witnessed an enormous improvement in their performance and became a hotbed of international stars, winning many championships.
"Sheikh Mansour is also an enthusiastic and passionate supporter of local sports.”
