Zamalek Club Chairman Mortada Mansour on Saturday said his club refuses to play Cairo derby against its rival al Ahly on Alexandria's Burg el Arab Stadium.
In statements to MENA, Mansour demands to move the match, slated for Thursday, to Cairo's Petrosport Stadium.
He added that Petrosport Stadium has been chosen as Zamalek's official field for all matches of the Egyptian Premier League.
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail is due to visit Zamalek's headquarters Friday to inaugurate some new facilities, and it will be impossible to return to Cairo soon after the match to complete arrangements needed for the premier's visit, Mansour said.
We did not request to delay the match, but if the Egyptian Football Association want to move the match to Burg el Arab, the derby must be postponed, he concluded.
