Yaya Toure's first goal in Manchester City's 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Monday has been reattributed to his team-mate David Silva, the Premier League announced on Thursday.
Toure took a shot at goal in the ninth minute of the game at The Hawthorns and the ball flicked off Silva before going between defender Craig Dawson's legs and trundling over the line.
"@MCFC's 1st goal against West Brom was in fact a @21LVA goal and has not been credited to @YayaToure," the Premier League said in a statement on Twitter.
Toure added a second goal in the 24th minute and captain Vincent Kompany made it 3-0 with a header just before the hour to take Manuel Pellegrini's side to the top of the fledgling standings.
