Bologna have sacked coach Pierpaolo Bisoli after just five league games in charge, the Serie A club confirmed today. The Rossoblu suffered their fourth defeat of the season with a 2-0 reverse at Udinese on Sunday and sit bottom of the standings with just one point to their name. A club statement read: "Bologna announces it has released coach Pierpaolo Bisoli from his duties as first-team coach. "The club wishes to thank Bisoli for his professionalism." Bologna appointed former Cagliari coach Bisoli following the departure of Alberto Malesani at the end of last season. The Emilia-Romagna outfit has yet to confirm who will replace him, with ex-Genoa coach Davide Ballardini and former Palermo boss Delio Rossi reportedly the main candidates. Bologna are next in action against Novara on 16 October.
