Dan Petrescu, the Romanian coach of Russian Premier League side Kuban Krasnodar, has extended his contract with the club until 30 June 2015. "Kuban showed selfless and inspirational playing throughout this season," said Krasnodar region governor Alexander Tkachev, who also presides over Kuban football club. "We deservedly earned a place in the league's top eight. Now we are able to compete with the country's top clubs, and I think for us it was a logical move to offer Dan [Petrescu] a new contract." The 43-year-old Petrescu took over at Kuban in 2010, winning promotion to the Russian top flight in his first season.
