Blackpool midfielder Elliot Grandin has completed his anticipated loan move to Nice. The 24-year-old Frenchman asked for a return to his homeland earlier this month due to a family issue - a request Seasiders boss Ian Holloway was more than happy to grant. Grandin joins the bottom-of-the-table Ligue 1 outfit on an initial loan deal worth £200,000 with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season that would cost a further £700,000. "He has a family situation and he needs to go back," Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette. "All the lads wanted me to help him out. We've done that and our dressing room is absolutely buzzing because the boy doesn't deserve the family situation he has. We've managed to do a deal where we will get back all the money we paid for him. If we don't, then we'll get Elliot back in the summer." The player told www.ogcnice.com: "I know there are good players here. The team has the potential to be much higher up in the standings and we will do everything to prove it." Grandin joined Blackpool from CSKA Sofia in summer 2010 ahead of the Tangerines' Premier League campaign. He made 34 appearances in all competitions, with two of his three goals for the club coming in his past two appearances from the bench in the recent Championship clashes with Ipswich and Crystal Palace.
