Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has rebuffed the offer of a new £90,000-a-week deal and has now personally informed manager Brendan Rodgers he wants to delay any further discussions until the summer, Daily Express reported Friday.
Rodgers held a meeting with Sterling’s representative, Aidy Ward, last week which failed to broker a solution to the stand-off, but Sterling has now reaffirmed that stance in talks with the Liverpool boss.
“We won’t reach agreement between now and end of season,” said Rodgers. “That has been made clear by Raheem’s representative and the boy himself. He wants to concentrate on his football and see in the summer.
“Everything is all speculation and we cannot worry about that. I repeat at this stage of his career it’s the best place for him to be, I’m sure it will be resolved.”
