Brazilian side Inter beat Peru's Juan Aurich 2-0 in their debut in the Copa Libertadores' group stage on Thursday. Midfielder Oscar opened the scoring for the Brazilians, ignoring the continued claims of Sao Paulo that he is still contracted to them. In the 24th minute Oscar passed to Leandro Damiao and received the return ball before scoring the opening goal. Twelve minutes later Juan Aurich were reduced to ten men when Cesar Ortiz was sent off for a second yellow card. Damiao missed chances in the second half before Argentinian substitute Jesus Datolo picked up the loose ball from a shot by Joao Paulo and netted the second goal. Paraguayan side Libertad had few problems with Peru's Alianza Lima and won 4-1 in Group Five. The visitors took the lead through Joazinho Arroe before Luciano Civelli equalised for Libertad. Nestor Pitana conceded a penalty which Sergio Aquino converted to put Libertad further ahead. Mauro Caballero and a Walter Ibanez own goal completed the scoring. Chile's Universidad Catolica were held 1-1 by Bolivia's Bolivar. William Ferreira opened the scoring for the Bolivians before Roberto Ovelar equalised. Bolivar were reduced to ten men when Walter Flores was sent off for a foul on Francisco Silva but held on for the draw. Luciano Figueroa scored the only goal from the penalty spot as Ecuador's Emelec beat Paraguay's Olimpia 1-0 in Group Two.
