Jerson Cabral struck a second-half equaliser to give Feyenoord a point from an entertaining 2-2 Eredivisie encounter with FC Utrecht. The visitors took the lead in the second minute through John Guidetti, but Utrecht hit back to take the lead through Daan Bovenberg and Edouard Duplan. However, Cabral ensured the spoils were shared with the equaliser in the 66th minute, with a shot goalkeeper Rob Van Dijk will feel he should have done better with. The game got off to a fast start, with Guidetti cutting into the penalty area from the left and firing across Van Dijk into the far corner. The home fans were stunned into silence but saw their team gradually regain their composure and get back on level terms after 31 minutes. Hosts hit back Yoshiaki Takagi curled in a free-kick from the left and Bovenberg climbed highest in the box to head past Erwin Mulder. The momentum was firmly with Utrecht and Mulder had to be alert to save a shot from Duplan and keep his side level at the break. Feyenoord squandered a good chance to take the lead on 49 minutes when Cabral was unable to beat Van Dijk, and they were made to pay seconds later when Bovenberg's cross caused a scramble in front of goal and Duplan was on hand to stab the ball home. However, Cabral made amends for his earlier miss on 66 minutes after cutting in from the right and firing past Van Dijk. Guidetti then flashed a shot just wide as the visitors pushed for a winner, while Utrecht finished the game with ten men after Davy Bulthuis was sent off in injury time for his second bookable offence.
