Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is holding talks in Iran to become the next coach of Persepolis, following his departure from Leicester City last month, according to the Iranian club and media. Eriksson arrived on Iran's Kish Island, in the Gulf, on Wednesday and the negotiations had begun, the Persepolis football club website said. Eriksson flew to Dubai after the negotiations on Thursday according to state news agency IRNA. "He will later announce his decision on our proposal," Persepolis football club president Mohammad Rouyanian was quoted as saying. British newspapers this week reported that the struggling Iranian side was looking to spend around £1 million to secure Eriksson. Leicester City said last month they let the 63-year-old Swede go by "mutual agreement." Eriksson had signed a two-year contract with the team just a year earlier, after a number of unsuccessful spells - including with Manchester City, Mexico and League Two outfit Notts County - since leaving the England job, which he held 2001-2006.
