Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb sacked coach Krunoslav Jurcic within an hour of being thrashed 7-1 at home to French side Lyon in the UEFA Champions League, the club president revealed today. "I have to say with great sadness that this defeat has been very painful for us. It's the worst defeat in Dinamo's [European competition] history," Zdravko Mamic said. "The board met immediately after the match and we decided to split with manager Krunoslav Jurcic. It was a unanimous decision," Mamic added. Jurcic has managed the side since June. Last night's loss was the fourth consecutive defeat for Dinamo. The team finished Group D without a point, in a Champions League campaign in which they conceded 22 goals over six matches and scored only three. Real Madrid and Lyon qualified for the last sixteen, while Ajax took third place in the group and will play in the UEFA Europa League.
