Cagliari have made the surprise decision to part ways with manager Massimo Ficcadenti. The Sardinian club sit tenth in the Serie A table, but announced on their website tonight that Ficcadenti and his backroom staff had been relieved of their duties. "Massimo Ficcadenti is no longer the coach of Cagliari. The decision was taken today," a statement on the club's website read. "He has left the club along with his assistant managers. "Cagliari FC would like to thank Massimo Ficcadenti and his staff for the work carried out with commitment and professionalism." Ficcadenti only replaced former Italy coach Roberto Donadoni in the summer and had made a solid start winning three of his opening five league games in charge. Cagliari had, however, gone winless in their past five before tonight's announcement.
