The Gunners star picked up the ankle knock during Sunday’s game against New York Red Bulls and was expecting to have it checked on Monday. However, the scan has been rescheduled for Tuesday as Wilshere confirmed via his Twitter account: "Ankle scan tomorrow (Tuesday) now!!" Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger originally expected the 19-year-old to be out for a week, which would mean Wilshere would miss the Gunners’ final pre-season game at Benfica on Saturday. The Frenchman has set up another potential club versus country row, saying that if Wilshere is not fit enough to play in Portugal then he will not be made available for England’s game at Wembley. Wilshere, 19, has emerged as one of the Premier League's brightest young talents and played 35 times for the Gunners in the league last season.
