Ilyas El Omari, head of Tanger-Tétouan area, said that the first time in Morocco and in the context of the application of advanced regionalism, the Kingdom becomes a partner of the economic actors, referring to the Moroccan Bank for Foreign Trade and Hiti company.
El Omari added, in exclusive interview with Al Maghrib Today , that this partnership will benefit the parties another side by taking part in development projects that benefit the parties and the population with positive results. He indicated that Tangier Tech project falls within the context of the dynamic of the Moroccan-Chinese relations, especially after the royal visit to Beijing, which culminated in the signing of more than 20 agreements in a number of fields, which included the Tangier Tech project.
Regarding the companies that will operate in smart city, El Omari replied that the companies that will operate in the smart city are the first of its kind in the Arab world and in Africa.
He said that investment and employment opportunities will be available for the largest project in the region, covering 2,000 hectares and accommodating 300,000 people. "It will attract hundreds of multinational companies in many fields such as aviation industry, automotive, modern technologies, renewable energies and others," he added.
This came after a seminar, hosted by Moroccan Bank for Foreign Trade, on the city of King Mohammed VI, Tangier Tech, in the presence of Othman Benjelloun, the Group's General Manager and a delegation from HATI Group.
