Egypt's Ambassador to Berlin Badr Abdel Atty revealed that the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Egypt will include meetings with a number of Egyptian senior officials, including President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi to
discuss the regional developments and the ways to push forward the bilateral relations during the coming period.
The Egyptian diplomat stressed, in an interview with "Arabs Today", that the relations between Egypt and Germany witnessed notable improvement since the recent visit conducted by the Egyptian president to Berlin. He added,
"The visit was a turning point in the relations between the two countries on different political, economic and security levels."
He stressed that the German top official will also discuss the efforts to combat terrorism and illegal immigration, saying that the German authorities give the priority to keeping Egypt's stability as a major guarantee for their own stability.
He stressed that the Egyptian officials took the serious measures to arrange the visit's program to ensure its success, saying that Merkel will meet with officials on economic, political, social and religious fields.
The Egyptian ambassador underlined the efforts he exerted to restore the the German tourists to Egypt, saying that the Egyptian government took serious steps to support the German government for returning their flights to Egypt.
He stressed that the Egyptian government is keen to secure air flights, airports and tourist destinations, saying that he delivered a clear message to the German travel agencies that the Egyptian authorities provide protection
to the foreign tourists visiting the country
