Caroline Corley, a longtime radio host in New York's northern suburbs, died suddenly shortly after returning home from her morning show, her ex-husband said. Corley, who began her radio career at Georgia State University in Atlanta, had been the early morning voice of WXPK-107.1, an alternative music station in White Plains, N.Y., for almost a decade, the Hudson Valley Reporter said. She died Monday. "My former wife Caroline Mure Corley suddenly just died this morning. Apparently felt dizzy and a neighbor somehow got involved and called the medics who got there quickly," Christopher Corley wrote on social media. "But after working with her for somewhere around 30-45 minutes, they were unable to revive her. This was after she had done her morning show at 107.1 The Peak, which she loved doing." After a start at what was then the largest student-operated radio station, Corley went to Denver and then worked at several stations in New York City. In a biography for WXPK-The Peak, as the station is known, she described a series of moves just before, after or during each station's "tragic demise." Colleagues and friends praised her enthusiasm for rock music and those who created it, the Reporter said. "She brought the stories behind the music and the musicians to life and gave such a comic twist on some of them," a listener, Mary Shannon, said. "All the long haired boys with guitars were her boyfriends." A month ago, she thanked listeners for supporting her when her Rock and Rolldog, named Mick Jagger after the lead singer in her favorite band, died.
