The TV and Radio Center in Lattakia launched a new radio station /Amwaj/ on 98.2 FM within the framework of the government's plans to increase the number of media outlets and raise issues of citizens' interests. Director of TV and Radio Centers, Eng. Nidal Yousef, said that the launching of the new radio station aims at shedding light on issues related to the coastal area and raising the awareness of national issues. He added that the diverse programs to be broadcast on air will serve the public interest as they tackle services, economic, cultural and social issues related to the coastal area. Yousef pointed out that the radio station will begin its first experimental broadcast for three weeks before it is officially launched on March 8th, 2013. The Director of the TV and Radio Center in Lattakia, Ayman Kenj, said that services in Lattakia province and others issues of interest to citizens will be discussed transparently with officials on air The announcer Amal Mohammad said that coastal heritage and the Syrian youths' future visions and problems will be under focus, in addition to other programs which will shed light on the work of charities and civil organization.
