French and Qatari officials sign agreement Doha - Arabstoday Qatar has signed an agreement with France to set up the Qatari-French school, Lycee Franco-Qatarien Voltaire, in Doha, Qatari newspaper The Peninsula has reported. Under the agreement, the new school would combine characteristics of the Qatari society and standards approved by the Supreme Education Council in Qatar, such as the teaching of Shariah, Arabic language and the history of Qatar, with the educational programme approved by the French national education ministry. Qatari students would be also be allowed to sit examinations prepared by the French educational institutions. The educational programme relies primarily on three languages and two cultures.
