Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damaty said on Tuesday that all Egyptian museums will be open for free as of today and till August 31 as part of celebrations of the the New Suez Canal.
Damaty made the statements while opening the antiquities exhibition of Ismailia Museum in the presence of governor Yassin Taher after finalizing the restoration of the museum.
The Ismailia Museum was established in 1913 to be the first regional museum outside Cairo.
Speaking about the New Suez Canal project, Damaty said the new shipping lane will positively affect the economies of the whole world and will bring about economic, cultural, civilized and social changes in the region.
