Refugees fill cans with water inside a camp in Lebanon Damascus - Arab Today Syrian Health Minister Dr Saad al-Nayef held a meeting with Mother Fadia al-Laham from St Jacob convent to discuss preparations of receiving a mobile hospital, which is due to arrive to Lattakia harbour in two weeks before being transported to Homs to provide medical services. Al-Nayef said the mobile hospital will help support health services in Homs province since a large number of hospitals and health centres have been put out of commission by terrorism. He affirmed that constant efforts are being made to coordinate with international and civil organisations to deal with issues affecting the health sector due to the economic sanctions on Syria, noting that the aid provided by some international organisations is "not up to the required level" while some aid is "no more than media propaganda." In turn, Mother al-Laham said that the mobile hospital is due to arrive from the Netherlands in two weeks, and that it contains an operations room, a prep room, and a resuscitation room, in addition to containing enough medical supplies to serve 10,000 people for up to six months. She pointed out that she is working to raise donors' awareness about the medical crises in some areas in Syria and the challenges posed by the economic sanctions which make it difficult to import and purchase medicine and medical supplies. Al-Laham noted that during her recent visits to Europe, Australia and Malaysia, she noticed a marked change in public opinion as people realised that Syrians are the victim of blatant international interference.
