The Yemeni Foreign Ministry condemned a terror attack on a security checkpoint in North Sinai on Friday that left 12 servicemen dead.
In a statement, the ministry said such crimes have nothing to do with Islam, heavenly religions and all human values.
The statement affirmed Yemen's full support for Egypt and all measures to be taken by the country to confront violence and extremism.
The ministry called on the international community to bear its responsibility in uprooting terrorism worldwide.
Earlier in the day, 12 servicemen were killed and six others injured when an armed group attacked a military checkpoint in North Sinai.
Fifteen terrorists were also killed in the attack.
