The UAE condemned the latest Israeli statements on the occupied Golan Heights, considering the meeting of the Israeli cabinet on the Golan lands as a flagrant violation of Arab rights and distortion of history.
Addressing the emergency meeting of the permanent delegates of the Arab League, UAE charge d'affaires in Cairo Khalifa Seif Al Tenaiji reiterated Syrias' right to the Golan Heights, a Syrian territory that was captured by Israel during the 1967 War.
"Today we come to witness a new Israeli violation that totally ignores all relevant international and Arab resolutions," he said.
What happened is a violation of the UN document prohibiting any country from extending its power on any part of another country, he said.
He denounced the meeting and following statements by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which he stressed that Golan Heights will remain under Israel forever.
He called on the international community to get Israel to abide by UN resolutions and fully withdraw from all occupied Arab territories, including Golan Heights.
He also expressed the Arab League's condemnation of all Israeli crimes against defenseless Palestinians.
