The Organization of Arab Peoples and Parliaments on Sunday condemned the mocking comment by Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Iyad Madani, considering it a flagrant interference in Egypt's domestic affairs and its political leadership.
In a statement released on Sunday, the organization asserted that such remarks are incompatible with the position of the OIC's secretary general and would affect his course of duty, which requires to immediately quit his post.
Organization of Arab Peoples and Parliaments Chairman Abdel Aziz Abdallah said OIC's secretary general remarks proved his failure in his position and contradicted the religious values and diplomatic norms.
Madani has presented an official apology on his mocking remarks, noting that he did not mean any offense to the Egyptian leadership and asserted his respect to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as a prestigious Arab leader who has a distinguished position in the Arab and Islamic worlds.
