The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the attack carried out by militants on a hotel in Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou.
The offensive left 20 persons dead, while some hostages were detained.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani said that the attack aims at harming the security and stability of Burkina Faso especially after the democratic transition in the country during holding the recent elections.
He further hailed the efforts exerted by Burkina Faso security forces which were courageous and managed to free the hostages detained by the armed elements.
Madani offered condolences to the families of the victims, hoping a speedy recovery for the injured.
