Sunday's session of the House of Representatives's session witnessed urgent statements by the members of the parliament condemning the comments of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani against Egypt during a meeting organized recently by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Tunisia.
The MPs stressed the importance of holding Madani accountable and preserving the historic Egyptian-Saudi ties at the same time.
MP Ismail Nasr Eldin said that Madani's statements towards the Egyptian leadership is a flagrant violation against Egypt as the country and its president are one thing.
For his part, MP Moustafa Bakry stressed that the Egyptian and Saudi peoples slammed this violation which will not affect the bilateral relations.
MP Baha Eldin Abu Shaka asserted that the comments represent unprecedented incident in the political and diplomatic history and aim at fomenting sedition among the two brotherly nations.
