Jordanian State Minister for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani condemned the ugly crime that took the life of writer Nahed Hattar early Sunday, Petra News Agency reported.
In a statement, Momani voiced confidence in the Jordanian judiciary and the security agencies in investigating the incident and holding the criminal accountable for his offense.
Momani praised the reaction of community leaders as well as politicians, social and media figures that strongly denounced the criminal act, adding that the law will be firmly applied to the perpetrator.
He stressed that the government will respond with an iron fist against anyone who tries to use this crime to spread hate rhetoric in our society.
