Greece has strongly condemned Sunday's terrorist attack in Cairo's suburb of Helwan which killed eight policemen.
A statement issued by the Greek Foreign Ministry and distributed by the Greek Embassy in Cairo Monday offered condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with Egypt to combat terrorism.
The statement asserted that the stability of Egypt is a key to the stability in the east Mediterranean region.
Eight policemen were shot dead by masked gunmen in Helwan early on Sunday.
The victims were traveling in a white mini-bus when gunmen dismounted from a pick-up truck, stopped the unmarked police vehicle and opened fire.
The policemen, who were in plain clothes, were on their way to take part in the arrest of some criminals. (MENA)
