The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States on Wednesday strongly condemned the shelling of a humanitarian assistance convoy heading the besieged city Aleppo, which caused deaths and injuries among civilians as well as damage to the contents of the convoy.
GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani described the incident as disgraceful and unethical act which is contrary to international conventions and the Security Council resolutions regarding the Syrian crisis, including Resolution 2254.
He urged the UN Security Council to take a firm action against the Syrian regime's continued violations of international laws and human principles.
