Prime Minister Sherif Ismail sent a cable of condolences Friday to Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Nayef bin Abdel Aziz for the death of hundreds of pilgrims in Mecca's stampede.
"I was greatly saddened by the news of the pilgrims' stampede in Mina that killed dozens and injured many others," Ismail said in the cable.
"I condole with you for (victims) of the painful accident."
"We greatly appreciate efforts exerted by the Kingdom to serve the pilgrims."
"We pray for the dead and wish the injured a speedy recovery."
