The Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned on Thursday Turkey's shelling of Iraq's Sinjar region.
Egypt slammed the "unjustified attack" as an unacceptable violation of Iraq's sovereignty.
Egypt stressed that support for Iraq in the face of such heinous attack would further complicate regional conditions and hamstring counter-terror attacks.
On Tuesday, Turkish planes bombed Kurdish fighters in Iraq's Sinjar region and northeast Syria, killing at least 20 in a widening campaign against groups linked to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party.
A Turkish military statement said around 70 militants were killed in the operations inside the two neighboring states.
