The Coptic Orthodox Church has mourned the victims of the passengers of the EgyptAir plane that vanished from radar at dawn Thursday while en route from Paris to Cairo.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Church and Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria expressed sympathy with the families of the victims.
The Church has decided to hold a mass for the victims at St. Peter Church in Abbassiya.
Some 56 passengers along with 10 crew members were on board the Airbus A320.
Radar lost contact with the flight at 2:45 Cairo local time while at an altitude of 37,000 feet.
The flight took off from Charles de Gaulle airport on Wednesday 23:09 (Paris local time) then it disappeared from radar after entering the Egyptian airspace.
