The Arab world lost the Director General Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO), Dr. Abdullah Hamad Muhareb, who passed away yesterday after a long march laden with landmark cultural achievements in various Arab countries.
President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, expressed deep sadness over the demise of the late ALECSO chief, noting that he is a key Kuwaiti cultural personality who played an effective role in boosting the cultural scene across the Arab world.
She asserted that Muhareb had remarkable contributions to various cultural events and projects.
He was also keen on attending various cultural events hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, which reflected his confidence in its cultural work, Shaikha Mai said.
