The Spanish businessman is worth $57bn (£37.5bn), an increase of $19.5bn (£12.8bn) in one year. Returning to the top 10 for the first time since 1999 is L'Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt, who - with a fortune of $30bn (£19.7bn) - is the world's richest woman. The number of female billionaires has increased by a third over the past year, representing 138 of the 1,426 global billionaires. Mexican Telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helu topped the list for the fourth consecutive year with $73bn (£48bn).
