Algerian artisan, Sophia Ben Said, accompanied by her colleague Noual Ouaknouni, created a wonderful duet in the world of creativity and created exquisite artworks used in the interior decoration of the house, consisting of traditional and modern salons made of car wheels.
Ben Said, who owns a traditional crafts workshop in Algiers, said in an interview with Arabs Today that the passion for traditional crafts was the reason for her work with Nawal, who specializes in designing antiques in various fields such as ceramics and interior decoration.
She decided with her friend to blend their creative efficiency, and made a unique and modern home furniture collection reusing the remnants of the wheels of cars obtained from the workers specialized in rubber. They create modern salons, tables and sofas that are used in the interior decoration of the house as well as in the gardens of the house.
They turn these environmentally harmful waste into useful and environmentally friendly materials through designing them in a prototype and then moving to packaging and decorating after selecting the appropriate colors.
Thanks to the remarkable success of Sophia and her friend, Nawal Ouaknouni, during their presentation of their business models, they decided to launch a new workshop called "les ateliers de la corde".
"Our products are very popular, especially for foreigners who are interested in buying chairs, tables, salons and couches in a distinctive, beautiful and exotic style," Sophia said.
