Amina Shelbaya London - Arabstoday Arabs Today had a chat with beauty expert Amina Shelbaya, the media figure and cosmetics expert. During the interview she unveiled 100 techniques needed by the Arab woman to change their concepts of beauty and fashion. AT: Why did you choose this filed? AS: I graduated in economics and political science, but I was eager to work as a model...after I won Miss Egypt, I couldn't achieve that though. I travelled to London where I studied everything about women for a year and a half, so when I came back, I opened a specialised school in beauty. Later, I accepted an offer from Salma El Shamma to present a singing competition programme. After that I managed to have my own fashion programme on Nile TV Network. AT: As a cosmetics expert, what is needed by the Arab woman to be pretty? AS: She lacks 100 good techniques for maintaining her beauty including using what is convenient to her, not to somebody else. AT: Why are you giving a special interest to natural recipes for maintaining the tenderness of skin? AS: I just try to provide the Arab woman with a cheap alternative for keeping her skin refreshed all the time because of the high prices of good substances. AT: Rigid diets exhaust skin and represent a hard challenge, do you recommend surgical interventions to lose weight? AS: Satisfaction with the gifts of Allah is the best thing. So I don't recommend artificial interventions.
