NYFW Autumn/Winter 2013 New York – Arabstoday BCBG Max Azria took us back to the Nineties with a pretty and practical collection that drew international inspiration. The Brit-pop oversized parka was juxtaposed with shimmering sequins underneath and topped off with a knitted beanie hat. The grungy-glam combo was so New York, with ultra-cool coloured fur layered over oriental-inspired draped evening dresses and fierce leather leggings (clearly going for the “Oh I just threw it on” look that takes three hours to achieve). A motif of Turkish-inspired tile patterns recurred throughout reflected in an Oxblood leather laser-cut skirt and skinny a-line tunics that fell to the knee. The collection innovatively combined streetwear style touches to artisanal effect, it was the epitome of laid-back luxe.
