His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, has conveyed the greetings and appreciations of HM King Hamad to Bahraini students in Britain.
Meeting the students who travelled from their college cities to London to see him, HH Shaikh Nasser said that Bahrain would remain firmly committed to providing proper care for education and for scholarship programnes.
He said that education held a highly significant place in the development priorities of the country and that the scholarship programmes were a keen reflection of this interest.
"Students remain the best ambassadors of Bahrain and they do rise to meet all standards. They are the source of our pride and they are our real assets," he told the students at the gathering attended by Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Alice Samaan.
The meeting provided a great opportunity for HH Shaikh Nasser and the students to discuss their academic lives in Britain and to review their conditions and needs.
Listening carefully to the details they provided about their lives in Britain, HH Shaikh Nasser urged the students to do their best to succeeded in their studies and subsequently contribute to the nation-building process.
HH Shaikh Nasser stressed the importance of education and the need to exert more effort to keep pace with the latest scientific and technological developments.
He added that the young generation, as partners in the building of the nation and its institutions and in the safeguarding of its achievements, would lead contributions to the overall development in all the areas in the Kingdom.
HH Shaikh Nasser also expressed pride with the Bahraini students and their role in enhancing the image of Bahrain and in building bridges of understanding and dialogue between the peoples of Bahrain and the Britain.
He stressed the need for students to complete their education and to use their degrees and experience in the development of the Kingdom and the prosperity of its institutions. He also referred to the role of youth in the development process in Bahrain and pointed to the need to provide this social segment with great attention and care in order to motivate them to carry out their responsibilities towards their homeland.
The students expressed pride in meeting HH Shaikh Nasser and in listening to his motivating and inspiring words to work diligently and to acquire more experiences to use in building the present and bright future of Bahrain under the leadership of HM King Hamad.
The students added that the meeting with HH Shaikh Nasser was "a great incentive" to move on with their education, achieve better results and acquire more aptitudes that will be used to serve the nation in all areas.
They said that young people in Bahrain benefitted from the support and care of HM the King and that they had numerous opportunities to consolidate the progress of development in Bahrain.
