Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bader Hamad Al-Issa announced here on Monday an initiative aiming to teach French language in primary schools in a plan expected to apply in the upcoming years.
In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of a celebration on "French language as an international language of communication", Dr. Al-Issa added that the initiative was launched in coordination with the French Embassy in Kuwait.
He pointed out that this orientation is supported by the National Center for Education Development (NCED) in cooperation with the French Institute and French Foreign Ministry.
That celebration, attended by Al-Issa and French Ambassador in Kuwait Christian Nakhle, marks the 50th anniversary of establishing Kuwait-France diplomatic ties.
The two-day event includes discussions on French language, the possibility of developing it in university and technology used in the learning process as well as other activities related to the language.
