His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the U.A.E. and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday attended the graduation ceremony of the National Defence College (NDC) in Abu Dhabi, during which he presented certificates to graduates.
Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, attended the graduation ceremony.
Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the graduates, and urged them to continue their efforts towards more educational achievements.
"I still learn something new every day. Education and knowledge are the reason behind progress of man, his happiness and stability. The path of education and knowledge is the key to building a nation that achieves progress in all walks of life,” he said.
In the ceremony's opening address, Major General Staff Pilot Rashad Mohammed Salem Al Saadi, Commander of NDC, spoke about the objectives of the college and its education process.
The ceremony was also attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Sultan Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, as well as a number of Sheikhs and senior officials.
